HASSLER-CONSORT

ALTE KOMPONISTEN NEU WIEDERENTDECKEN

THE BAROCK-ENSEMBLE FOR OLD MUSIC

The Hassler Consort is an international professional ensemble for early music. The instrumentalists play on original instruments from the baroque period. Depending on the program, young, professional singers appear in solo or choir ensembles.

In 1992, Franz Raml founded the Hassler Consort to perform music from the Renaissance to the Viennese Classic in historical rooms between Ulm and Lake Constance under the newly acquired aspects of historical performance practice. In addition to maintaining the large repertoire of Bach and Handel, it is particularly important to Franz Raml to rediscover and re-perform the works of southern German, Austrian and Italian baroque composers such as Monteverdi, Scarlatti, Kerll, Muffat and Biber. The aspect of the rich regional musical culture of Ulm and Upper Swabia in the 17th and 18th centuries is also honored in specially designed programs: the rediscovery of composers such as Scherer (Ulm), Knecht (Biberach) and numerous Upper Swabian monastery composers.

ALL GENRES FROM CHAMBER MUSIC TO ORCHESTRAL WORKS

The programs of the Hassler Consort include all genres from chamber music to orchestral works, cantatas, oratorios, to scenic opera productions with performances in the Ulm Stadthaus and Theater and in the Concerthaus Ravensburg:

2010    Pergolesi "La serva padrona" and the scenic cantata "Orfeo"
2011    Handel "Acis and Galatea"
2013    Handel "Giulio Cesare"
2015    Handel "Orlando"
2017    Handel "Riccardo primo"
2021    Handel "Aci, Galatea e Polifemo" (canceled due to Corona)

Invitations to concerts, festivals and radio recordings at home and abroad (SWR, WDR, BR, ORF, RAI) and numerous CD productions document the successful artistic work of Franz Raml and his ensemble.

In Ulm, the Hassler Consort is organizing the concert series with the programmatic title „Originalklang".
